Ragnar Ache’s participation in FC Koln’s next match against Werder Bremen is in doubt after a training incident.
During Wednesday’s session, the German-Ghanaian striker received an elbow to the face about an hour in, which forced him to abandon the workout early. Ache appeared shaken and was sent to the locker room as a precaution.
The club now awaits further medical evaluation to determine if he will recover in time or if the blow will impact his fitness ahead of Saturday’s game.
Recently, Ache has been in strong form, recording a goal or assist in each of the last four competitive matches and starting three of those games. If Ache is unavailable, coach Lukas Kwasniok still has options for the forward line.
Ragnar Ache has played 11 games, scored 1, and assisted 3 in the Bundesliga this season.
Koln fans will be hoping Ache’s setback is only temporary as the team prepares for the crucial fixture.
