Karim Zito remains unsure over the fitness of defender Samba O'Neil ahead of Asante Kotoko's home match with Berekum Chelsea this Sunday and admits the squad is still adjusting as injuries and returns reshape his options.
The Asante Kotoko coach shared the update while reflecting on a bench that now looks deeper than earlier in the season, with more players available and working hard in training ahead of the test at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“As the midfielders are coming, the defenders too are going as we talk now Samba is out. I don't know whether he can make it on Sunday," he told AKSC TV
"But I'm very happy more than the previous the first round when I look at the bench I don't see anybody this year on less young ones so I'm very happy they all back and everybody is seriously working,"
Asante Kotoko host Chelsea on January 11th in Kumasi, with kick-off set for 3:30 pm
