The Ghana Police Service has dismissed claims circulating in a viral video alleging that individuals in Nsawam Adoagyiri blocked roads and set fires in protest against today’s collation exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) in Accra.
In a statement released on Thursday, 21st December 2024, the Police clarified that the incident depicted in the video has no connection to the ongoing collation exercise.
We wish to state that the claim is false and has no correlation with today's collation exercise in Accra, the Police noted.
The law enforcement agency revealed that the video in question relates to a reported case currently under investigation, which occurred on 8th December 2024.

To address public concerns, the Police assured residents of Nsawam Adoagyiri and the general public of the deployment of adequate security personnel to maintain law and order in the area.
The Police further urge the general public to remain calm since there is adequate deployment of security personnel in and around Nsawam Adoagyiri to ensure maintenance of law and order, the statement concluded.
The public has been encouraged to disregard the false claims and rely on verified sources for accurate information.
