Almost 24 hours after the first ballots were cast in the December 7, 2024 elections in Ghana, the Electoral Commission has not officially announced a single result yet, indicating that no results have been transmitted to the national collation centre from the regional centres.
Benjamin Barnor-Bio, Deputy Director of the Commission for Electoral Services told journalists at a press briefing this morning December 8, that the EC has not received certified results from the regional collation centres yet.
Yesterday Ghanaians went to the polls to vote in a decisive election that had more than 10 presidential candidates on the ballot paper. However, the contest was clearly between former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress and Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party.
