The Youth Wing of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has sent its congratulatory message to President-elect John Dramani Mahama, pledging support to help achieve his goals.
The youth in PNC say they are encouraged by some of the campaign promises including the 24-hour economy policy.
“As the National Youth Organizer, I am acutely aware of the high levels of unemployment among young Ghanaians, and we believe that President Mahama’s administration has a critical role to play in addressing this issue,” a statement issued by PNC’s National Youth Organiser Mark Ewusi Arkoh on Thursday, December 12 said.
“We are encouraged by his campaign promises, including the implementation of a 24-hour economy, which has the potential to create more job opportunities for our youth.”
The statement also commended Mr Mahama, who was President of Ghana from 2012 to 2017, for some of his campaign promises to fight corruption, particularly the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).
“This is a crucial step towards promoting good governance to ensure transparency and accountability, and we are committed to supporting his administration in this endeavour.
“As the youth wing of the PNC, we are committed to promoting the spirit of unity and patriotism amongst our members and the Ghanaian youth at large.
“We believe that our collective efforts can help to drive positive change and promote national development.”
The statement finalized expressed the resolve by the PNC “to working closely with President Mahama’s administration to achieve these goals and create a brighter future for all Ghanaians”.
