The former Attorney General Betty Mould Iddrisu under the Mills administration has expressed delight at the choice of Justice Sophia Akuffo as the new Chief Justice.
In a message, Mrs Iddrisu said Justice Akufo has “excellent credentials and has impeccable gender credentials all her working life.”
She said on Accra-based Class FM: “I'm truly delighted by the choice of Sophia Akuffo as the next Chief Justice of Ghana.
“Ghana has led the way and stayed the course. She has excellent credentials and has impeccable gender credentials all her working life.
“Her Ladyship Chief Justice, my senior in the law and most respected woman on the bench, I welcome you as I welcomed Her Ladyship Georgina Wood some few years ago to this prestigious and high leadership position.
“I am confident of your success as I was of hers. God bless you and grant you the courage to lead Ghana at the bench in Africa and the world at large.”
