Last week, the committee received fresh evidence, delaying its work which began on Wednesday, 15 February.
The ad hoc committee was set up to probe the bribery claim against the chairman of the Appointments Committee, Joe Osei-Owusu, Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko and Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak.
Bawku Central MP and member of the Appointments Committee, Mahama Ayariga, in January alleged Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko attempted to bribe the Minority members on the committee with GHS3000 each to endorse his nomination after his vetting.
According to him, the Energy Minister used Mr Osei-Owusu as a conduit to bribe them. Mr Osei-Owusu is alleged to have given the monies to the Minority on the committee through Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak.
However, Mr Mubarak, Mr Agyarko and Mr Osei-Owusu have denied the allegation. Read Full Story
