Accra, Dec. 5, GNA - President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Thursday commissioned and handed over to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) 84 operational vehicles.
The vehicles, including 33 armored personnel carriers, 41 assorted Toyota vehicles, and other utility trucks, would enhance the GAF's constitutional duties of protecting the territorial integrity of Ghana and support internal security operations.
At a short ceremony at Burma Camp in Accra, President Akufo-Addo said his administration would ensure that the logistical needs of the armed forces were met to keep the GAF efficient and effective at all times.
"As your Commander-in-Chief , I am taking steps to ensure that your needs are met" he said.
The President admonished the GAF to observe a strict culture of maintainance to preserve the vehicles for enhanced capscity of the force.
He urged them to continue to maintain the peace that Ghana continued to enjoy.
