Obiba Sly Collins
The Obiba Foundation led by Obiba Sly Collins in collaboration with Chemarims Federation Africa and DreamChild Foundation on December 1 held an event dubbed ‘Ghana Peace Mass Conference and Street Jam’ at the Madina Market, La Nkwantanang School in Accra.
The well-attended musical event attracted people from all walks of life, including representatives from all the political parties.
The event kicked off on a promising note, and all the artistes performed their heart out to the expectant crowd.
Renowned artistes Pat Thomas, Pozo Hayes, Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Dela Botri, Shegah, Adane Best, King Benjah and Boomers Band, Kamelyon, and Franca rocked the stage alongside Obiba Sly Collins, the headline act.
Attendees enjoyed a night of upbeat music and cultural pride, with a blend of highlife, reggae, dancehall, hiplife, afrobeat, highlife, and other traditional rhythms.
One of the high moments of the evening was when Sly Collins mounted the stage and performed some of his hit songs.
He put up an impressive display during his stage performance, which made the fans to yell for more.
Prominent figures who spoke at the event included Roman Fada, Laura Lynn Collins, CEO of Chemarims Federation, Farouk Al-Wahab, International Relations Consultant, David Wincott, CEO of Intact Limited and Peace Ambassador of Ghana Peace, and Rev. Dr. Franklin Gyan, General Overseer of Life Restoration Chapel.
Ghanaians were urged by the Ghana Peace movement to come together, consider their common ideals, and honour the diverse cultural heritage that unites the country.
In addition to the live musical performances, the event was also used to pray and educate the people against violence during and after the 2024 general election.
At the event, a citation was given to Her Royal Highness Nana Dr. Amissah III, Queen Mother of the Mankessim Traditional Area.
