Senior Technical Advisor to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Betty Krosbi Mensah, has assured the Black Princesses of the government's full support as they approach the final hurdle in their quest to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
Speaking to Citi Sports after the Princesses edged past South Africa 3â2 on aggregate to set up a decisive qualifier against Uganda, Mensah emphasized the administration's commitment to the team's success.
"The government will do everything possible to support the Black Princesses," she declared.
Mensah praised the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Iddie Adams for their dedication to Ghanaian sports.
"If you look at the administration of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the experience of Honourable Kofi Adams, it is obvious that they are committed to our sports in general," she said.
"They are going to do everything humanly possible to encourage, to inspire, to motivate and to ensure that the girls are given the necessary support to give out their best for the country."
The Princesses now face a final qualifying showdown against Uganda for a place at the World Cup in Poland later this year. With extended preparation time and growing team cohesion, the squad is well-positioned to take the next step.
