Former Hearts of Oak Management Member, Barimah Atuahene, has described the club as soulless.
The Ghana Premier League has struggled to recapture their glory days, winning the league title under Samuel Boadu during the 2020/21 season.
Before that, the club had gone over a decade without winning a trophy despite dominating football on the continent in the early 2000s.
In the ongoing 2025/26 season, Hearts of Oak were knocked out of the FA Cup by lower-tier side True Life FC at the Kpando Sports Complex.
In the Premier League, the Rainbow Club sit 5th on the league log with 31 points after 18 matches played.
Reacting to the recent challenges of the club, Mr Atuahene expressed disappointment in the sharp decline of the club and stressed that the club is now soulless.
"Hearts of Oak has lost it sprit, and it is now soulless," he told Asempa FM.
After beginning the second half of the season with a hard-fought against Hohoe United, Hearts of Oak will hope to continue their mini-revival when they host Dreams FC in the Matchday 19 games at the University of Ghana Stadium.
