Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has hinted that the club could make further surprise additions to their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors are stepping up preparations for the new campaign as Tinkler works to shape a squad capable of challenging for honours.
Kotoko have already made significant changes to their playing body, with several players leaving the club as part of a restructuring exercise.
The South African coach, who was appointed ahead of the new season, says the club have largely completed their recruitment but indicated that further arrivals could still be announced.
“We have now completed the signings that we feel we need to strengthen the squad,” Tinkler said.
“What you should expect is obviously there is going to be a number of changes in terms of the squad.
“We’ve moved a number of players out that we just felt⦠So [there are] a lot of new faces, a lot of foreign-based players that come with a lot of experience as well, which I think is all very important.”
Tinkler then raised expectations among supporters by revealing that Kotoko could have more surprises in store.
“Well, there are one or two surprises still coming,” he added.
Kotoko have been active in the transfer market as they seek to rebuild following a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.
The club will get an early opportunity to assess their preparations when they face arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2026 Democracy Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors will then begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign away from home against newly promoted Debibi United.
Tinkler will be hoping his revamped squad can quickly adapt to his methods as Kotoko look to make a stronger start to the new season.
