Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has pleaded with the club fans not to give up on the team amid inconsistence performance in the current campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors have been inconsistent after succumbing to a back-to-back defeats. They fell short to Heart of Lions in the league, followed by their FA Cup defeat to Aduana FC on Sunday.
As the team gears up for the blockbuster clash against Hearts of Oak, Amoah, who made a return to Kotoko in the winter window has pleaded with the fans not to neglect the team, while urging them to troop to the stadium in their numbers to cheer them to success.
“It’s our performance that matters” he told Akoma FM. “Our supporters should continue to believe in us. They shouldn’t give up on us. I will plead with them to come out in their numbers to support the team. Honestly, without them, its feels like we are not playing for anyone”
Kotoko are without a substantive coach following the resignation of Karim Zito, with assistant coach Prince Yaw Owusu and Hamza Obeng taking temporal charge of the team ahead of the Super Clash.
Hearts of Oak are currently fourth on the league standings with 36 points, while Kotoko occupies fifth spot with 35 points.
