Former Asante Kotoko captain, Opoku Nti has blamed the recent poor form of Asante Kotoko on the playing body and said they need to improve.
The Porcupine Warriors have gone six games without recording a win, leading to intense pressure on coach Prosper Ogum and the team.
Explaining the club’s struggles, Opoku Nti said despite the challenges is not clear, the players need to improve and put up an extraordinary performance in games because the club is demanding.
“You can’t pin point the exact problems at Kotoko. The players need to up their game. Kotoko is not an ordinary team, it’s an extraordinary team.
“The players needs to improve and do extra things for themselves anytime they are playing. I know the club is not owing them now, so why are they not delivering,” Opoku Nti said in an interview with Connect FM.
Nti added that teams put up great performances anytime they face Asante Kotoko with their players having hopes of getting signed by Asante Kotoko in the end.
“It’s every player’s dream to play for Kotoko, so anytime they get the chance to play against them, they give extra performance just to be signed and I am typical example,” he concluded.
Asante Kotoko will play Dreams FC in Round 26 of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.
