Fresh from eliminating  Zambian giants, Zesco United, from the CAF Confederation Cup last Sunday, Medeama SC will this afternoon turn their attention to domestic football as they play against Wa All Stars at the Wa Park in an outstanding fixture of the First Capital Plus Premier League.
The Tarkwa-based side currently lie in sixth position on the league log, with three games in hand, and will be looking forward to winning their first outstanding match against the Wa lads, which could propel them from sixth to fourth position on the table.
Relegation-threatened All Stars, on the other hand, will be looking forward to avenging their 1-0 loss to Medeama in the ninth week league clash at the Tarkwa T&A Park last October. A home win will elevate All Stars from the 12th to eighth position.
Meanwhile, Liberty Professionals will also welcome Berekum Chelsea to the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman in an outstanding 17th week fixture which favours the home side.
Chelsea will be visiting a venue which has been a slippery ground for giants such as league leaders, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and second-placed Accra Hearts of Oak, both of whom suffered 1-0 and 3-1 defeats respectively.
Although an upset at Dansoman cannot be ruled out completely, this afternoon’s clash looks like a rather tall order for ninth-placed Chelsea, who have lost three of their last four away matches, as against the Scientific Soccer Lads who are on the roll after winning their last three home games, including victories over Hearts and Kotoko.
Liberty remain favourites to add to Chelsea’s unimpressive travel record as a win for coach George Lamptey’s side will see the Berekum lads dropping one place down the log.
