Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum has revealed his euphoric celebration after Albert Amoah’s last-gasp winner in the weekend’s Super Clash against Hearts of Oak was predetermined.
Albert Amoah bagged the winning goal for the home side in stoppage time after a defensive mix-up from Hearts of Oak.
Hearts of Oak center-back Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare got in each other’s way, presenting a gaping goal to Amoah, who tucked home from close range.
Amoah’s late winner sent the Baba Yara into a state of utter delirium as fans roared in celebration.
Amid the celebrations, Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum had clambered up the wall, twirling his tie in celebration and fist-bumping the air.
A delighted Ogum explained his actions in his post-match presser.
“The celebration was predetermined. I had planned it in my mind at home that when we score, I will remove my tie and then go and say thank you to the fans. So it was a predetermined celebration, not a spontaneous one,” he said.
The win over Hearts of Oak puts Asante Kotoko back in contention for the league as they lie three points behind league leaders Heart of Lions.
