The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko has disclosed a crunch meeting held with the coaching staff led by Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum.
This follows the current disappointing result which has seen the club slip from third place in the Ghana Premier League table to ninth place.
In a statement released by Kotoko on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the IMC acknowledged the concerns of fans who have expressed displeasure with the current form of the club.
“The IMC acknowledges the concerns raised by our cherished supporters regarding our current situation. It must be placed on record that management is equally not enthused with our results and deems it unacceptable. However, the IMC is committed to ensuring that there is a quick turnaround in our current fortunes.” parts of the statement read.
However, amidst the uncertain future of Prosper Ogum, the authorities continue to bank their hopes on him to overturn the current poor run of the Porcupine Warriors.

- I can get a job if I leave Kotoko – Prosper Ogum
“In our quest to achieve this, various steps have been taken, including an emergency meeting with the coaching staff and not the dismissal of the head coach.
“We therefore urge our fans and all stakeholders to remain calm and continue to support our club in these turbulent times.”
Despite winning the Ghana Premier League title with the Porcupine Warriors in the 2021/22 season, Ogum has faced setbacks in his second stint.
The former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) boss fought to rebound the team in the current season after a poor start finishing third at the end of the first round.
However, the team has descended atrociously having lost five games in six matches in the second half. The run includes four consecutive defeats which has now matched their poorest-ever run in 14 years.
