The head coach of Heart of Lions, Bashir Hayford, has accepted his team’s defeat to Aduana FC, applauding the defensive display of the opponent.
Lions hosted the team from Dormaa on Friday afternoon in a Week 14 fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
In a close contest played at Kpando Sports Stadium, a solitary strike from Patrick Mensah secured a narrow 1-0 triumph for Aduana FC, ensuring that they bagged all three points.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Bashir Hayford conceded defeat, arguing that his team did everything, but it just wasn’t their day.
“This is how football is. We did everything. I will give credit to the defenders of Aduana FC. They defended gallantly, and I’m not surprised how they are on the table. Congratulations to them,” Bashir Hayford said.
The defeat leaves Heart of Lions in third position on the Ghana Premier League standings on 23 points.
The team could be pushed down the table depending on the results from other matches on Saturday and Sunday.
