Outgoing Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will bounce back from its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
He asked the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to overly rejoice over their victory in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on the Sunbroise show on 3FM on Thursday, December 19, he said “I congratulate the NDC for their wins but I must say the time has come for the NPP to come together. Don’t be too excited about our fall now, because you will face the same thing.” The Efutu lawmaker stated.
“voter apathy in the just-ended election shows that Ghanaians don’t trust the NPP and NDC”
Ghanaians, on December 7th, 2024, went to polls to elect its President and 276 parliamentarians. The country experienced a low turnout of voters.
This, the majority leader of parliament, in an exclusive interview on 3FM Sunrise with Johnny Hughes, says affected the NPP’s chance of breaking the eighth cycle of change of government.
He, however, argued that “I’m not a prophet of doom nor a seer sayer, but NDC will suffer voter apathy in the 2028 general elections.”
