An Accra circuit court has sentenced two suspects involved in the Kwabenya jail break at the Kwabenya police station to 60 months in prison.
The two, Prince Osei and Atta Kwadwo were convicted on their own plea for unlawful escape from custody.
According to the presiding judge, Aboagye Tando the maximum sentence should have been 36 months but because they didn’t waste the court’s time and admitted their offence.
The two and five others with the aide of six armed men broke jail and in the process a policeman Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi was shot dead.
