The ad hoc committee which was set up to investigate bribery allegations leveled against some members of the Appointments Committee of Parliament is expected to present its report Wednesday March 29, 2017.
“The committee chairman had indicated that the committee will lay its report on Wednesday and it was contained in the business statement that was read on the floor on Friday. So we are expecting that on Wednesday the committee will lay its report,” the Acting Director of Public Affairs of Parliament, Kate Addo.
The Chairman of the committee Joe Osei-Owusu has been accused by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bawku Central Mahama Ayariga of offering bribe to the minority through the Chief Whip Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak prior to the approval of the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko.
Mr Agyarko, Mr Osei-Owusu and Alhaji Muntaka have since denied the allegations.
The bribery committee is chaired by Joe Ghartey MP for Essikado-Ketan.
