Assistant coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Michael Osei has been sacked by the club’s management on Monday.
Close sources revealed that new coach Zdravko Logarusic has told management he can’t work with the former New Edubiase assistant coach and has thus given a thumps up for him to be sacked.
According to other media reports, he has been given the option of either take charge of the U20 side or leave Kotoko altogether.
Former striker for the Porcupine Warriors Shilla Alhassan is rumored to be favoured for the assistant manager role. He was spotted at the Baba Yara Stadium when Kotoko defeated King Faisal in a club friendly on Sunday.
Osei acted as Kotoko’s head coach after former coach David Duncan was fired just six matches into the 2015/2016 season.
Osei in an interview with Starr FM admitted his services will not be needed for the upcoming season.
“I was just told by management that my head coach says he can’t work with me with just a month after he took over the club,” he said.
The 45-year-old played for Asante Kotoko between 1989 and 1992 before leaving to play for SK Vorwärts Steyr in the Austrian league.
