Kasapa FM’s Akwasi Nsiah has jumped into the argument of whether the four-year term given to governments must be extended due to the numerous challenges facing the country advising politicians to stop dreaming of staying in power forever.
A section of the public have argued that the four-year term given to governments is not sufficient and that it is proper their years are extended to five years in order to complete most of their unfinished projects.
But speaking in an interview with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment Akwasi Nsiah indicated that incoming government should be made aware that governance is a continuous process and thus it will be prudent for them to complete projects by their predecessors instead of trying to build the same to score cheap political points.
According to him, American governments are able to use the same four years to do major developmental projects in their country without calling for extension.
He proposed to governments in Ghana to also adjust themselves and make realistic promises they can fulfil within the four-year mandate.
‘I think four-year mandate is not too small for any government to accomplish its projects. Its just a matter of planning, and having it at the back of your mind that you could be kicked out of office and not leave in oblivion that electorate will continue to vote for you,’ he submitted.
