The Minority Leader in Parliament Haruna Iddrisu said this is part of a grand scheme by the Nana Addo-led government to politicise the civil service.
The Finance Ministry has employed eight former workers of the investment bank, Databank at senior levels after Ken Ofori-Atta was made Minister of the sector.
This allegation was made by the Minority Leader in Parliament Haruna Iddrisu.
Haruna Iddrisu said this is part of a grand scheme by the Nana Addo-led government to dismiss more civil servants. He accused the government of politicising the civil service.

“Even at the ministry of finance, as many as eight civil service positions have been filled by officers who hitherto were working with the Minister of Finance at Databank and have been put on the payroll of the Ghana Revenue Authority. We will not accept the undue politicisation of the civil and public service of Ghana.”
He also cautioned the President not to interfere in the operations of the Electoral Commission.

“He should stay off and intruding into the operations and activities of the independent electoral commission of Ghana. While we have accommodated him sweeping off the civil and public service and replacing them with officials of the New Patriotic Party, we unable to accept and live with any attempt by him to erode public confidence in the independent electoral commission,” he said.
The MP was speaking at a press conference organised by the NDC in Accra Thursday (July 20, 2017) to respond to statements made by President Akufo-Addo during the media encounter held after 6 months in government.
