Former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Hon Nii Amassah Namoale has come under heavy criticism on social media for a family photo he posted on Facebook on Sunday.
In the lovely family portrait, Namoale poses with his wife and three children. All appears to be warm and cozy until one casts a look at the former parliamentarian’s hand, which is rested firmly on his wife’s right breast.
The placement of the hand sparked a frenzy among his followers who started a endless thread of jabs and sarcastic comments.
But one follower’s comment particularly irked Namoale into a response. The follower, Michael Ohene wrote that, “Honourable the pic is nice but where you placed your right hand doesn’t speak well of you at all….. pls remove this pic ryt now!!!”
To which Hon. Namoale responded thus, “She my wife and I don’t feel ashame at all. I love her I have paid for where my hand is 26 years ago.”
However, the comment which may have been regarded as sexist and chauvinist was received with humour by subsequent comments.
