Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo Monday said business development and growth would be pursued as a poverty reduction strategy.
He said his goal would be to promote the private sector and allow it to flourish for the common prosperity for all.
Many Ghanaian businesses have failed to outlive the founding generations and remained small in spite of huge growth prospects and while there remain yawning market gaps ready to be filled, they hardly grow to fill these gaps.
“We can’t wait any longer for the businesses to remain family businesses, for the businesses to remain individual businesses when the potential, the market, is for the rich,” Akufo-Addo said in a speech read on his behalf by Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo at the Ghana CEOs Summit in Accra.
The annual summit assembled over 500 CEOs, business leaders, officials and entrepreneurs.
The event highlights various issues in the business community including harnessing young talents, especially in the area of technology. Enditem
