A mother and father have returned to their homes after days of deadly clashes between Kokonbas and Chokosis, to nothing.
Mariam and her five children fled their home when the first gunshot rang last Saturday but returned with tears, seeing the devastation caused to her property.
The few belongings she and her husband had worked for almost all their lives.
In her account to Joy News’ Gifty Andoh Appiah, the mother of five said she does not know where to start from in rebuilding their home.
Her husband, who was away before the conflict started, will come home to nothing – he will not even have a place to lay his head because their mattress and other beddings were burnt by some unknown persons.
Marian and her family are not alone.
Another man who spoke to Gifty has yet to locate his wife and seven children disappeared when assailants stormed their home and set it on fire.
Although he has looked all over for them, they are nowhere to be found and the situation makes it even impossible for him to report his case to the police, he said.
Foodstuff, books and all other belongings were burnt to ashes. Despite his returned, it is almost impossible for him to pick up the pieces from what is left.
