Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Michael Okyere Baafi, said it is wrong for Parliamentarians to say their role is only to make laws and not to be agents of development.
He wants Ghanaians to disregard such comments.
According to Michael Okyere Baafi, every politician worth his salt must ensure that the needs of citizens are met when they assume leadership.
He said MPs and political leaders have every opportunity to facilitate and influence developmental projects that would benefit the electorate.
According to him, anyone who participates in a political struggle must benefit from its proceeds.
Michael Okyere Baafi, who is aspiring to enter Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the New Juaben South Constituency, made the disclosure on the sideline of a keep fit exercise, health screening and a kenkey party organised by the Friends of Baafi at the Koforidua Jackson Park.
The event was graced by Blackstars Coach, Akwasi Appiah, veteran sports journalists, Kwabena Yeboah, sports journalists, Wallace Moshosho, and TV and radio personalities.
Mr Baafi observed that the major challenge of the people of Koforidua is unemployment.
He believes he has the experience and edge to drive investors to Koforidua to create jobs and employ the youth.
He said he is poised to change the face of politics in the Eastern Region town.
