The government of Ghana has made a committment to Sierra Leone, to share experience and expertise in the area of Free SHS as the country prepares to implement same.
This was captured in a communiqué signed between the two countries at the Jubilee House on Monday.
The communiqué among other things is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and improve the volume of trade between the two countries.
On education, President Akufo Addo said, his administration will study a request by Government of Sierra Leone for technical assistance in the form of experts; in the area of Technical and Vocational Education Training; assuring them that Ghana will work with Sierra Leone on the modalities for implementing the request.
The president also expressed the government of Ghana’s committment to sharing its experience and expertise in the specific area of Free SHS as Sierra Leone prepares to implement same.
The government in the communique has also indicated it's preparedness to work with Sierra Leone on an overseas health deployment program to meet the health needs of the Ebola-affected country.
The two leaders also discussed the African Continental Free Trade Area and noted how it could help expand trade and create jobs on the African continent.
If operationalised, it is expected to expedite moves for Africa to develop without aid from Europe and or America.
The Sierra Leonean President, Julius Maada Bio, is on a two-day working visit with his wife Fatima Jabbe-Bio, and members of his cabinet.
