Russell Edem Avornyo, popularly known as Coded, a member of music group 4x4, says he will not open up on the current state of the group until he has also released a song.
Fellow group member, Captain Planet has been enjoying massive airplay with his current tune titled ‘Obi Agyi Obi Girl’.
As Captain Planet continued to perform at various events without the other group members, rumours of a split gained much momentum.
Earlier this year, the group announced that each member will embark on solo projects but 4x4 will stay together forever.
Following the group’s announcement, Captain Planet embarked on numerous solo projects, releasing a couple of songs.
Despite the announcement, rumours of a split grew stronger with many demanding a response from fellow group members Coded and Fresh Prince.
Captain Planet in an interview with JoyNews denied the speculations adding that members of the group are consequently pursuing solo careers in a move to keep the name of the brand relevant.
He further revealed that a number of singles will be heard from each member of the group subsequently.

4x4 - Fresh Prince, Captain Planet and Coded
Captain Planet, who is also a leader of the group, had also said in an interview that other group members are not as ‘aggressive’ as he is and that explains the reason why the group is somewhat dormant.
He added that “he has carried the group on his shoulders to make it one of the biggest music groups in the country for over 10 years now and so his efforts should be acknowledged.”
The growing silence of the other two members has caused many to speculate that there was trouble in their camp.
In an exclusive interview with Doreen Avio, Coded said he will not comment on anything to do with the group until he puts a song out.
“I want to say it right here on JoyNews that, I’m not going to say anything about 4x4. I don’t want to say anything about 4x4 until I come out with a song too.
"I will release the song and come for an interview and talk about 4x4. But for now, I do not have a song out there, I do not want to talk about 4x4 regardless of what you ask about the group, I’m never going to answer,” he said.
Asked what is taking him so long to put his works out, Coded said, “All will definitely come with the question when I release a song, and you will definitely ask me this same question and I will tell you what has kept me this long.”
