The Exchequers of Bank of Ghana (BoG) at the weekend emerged winners of the 2018 Homowo hockey gala tournament held in Accra.
The just ended Greater Accra Hockey league champion, who will be representing Ghana at the Africa Cup for Club Champions (ACCC) 2018 in Abuja from December 17-24, cemented their title winning aspiration with a 1-0 win over the men from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in the last game of the day.
In the end Exchequers amassed a total of seven points, leaving Police in second place with six points with GRA in third with five points and Reformers of the Ghana Prisons Service in the last spot with no point.
In the women category, Police came up tops with seven points while Reformerss and GRA came second and third with five and four points respectively. Extinguishers of the Ghana National Fire Service finished with two points.
The masters division saw the Team of Osu/La picking four points to place first with Team Tema and Team Ga following in that order with three and two points respectively.
In attendance was Nii Ashi Komowua II, Bubuashie Mantse, Asafonye Odjanye I of Kaneshie, Awo Kyekyeh, Aburi Kydimo henemaa, Madam Florence Ashiaki Dede Nartey Dodowa Apperko and former president of the Ghana Hockey Association, Mr Oko Nikoi- Dzani
Nii Ashi Komowua II congratulated the winners for the performance and urged them to continue working hard to repeat the feat at the continental level.
