The Headmaster of Adabraka Presbyterian Preparatory School, Mr Daniel Botchway has called on parents who have not enrolled their children in school, to recognise the importance of basic education for children.
Mr Botchway made the call at the school’s 12th graduation of 62 pupils comprising of 29 Junior High School leavers and 33 Kindergarten two pupils in Accra yesterday.
The ceremony, which was marked with various cultural performances to the admiration of parents, had the theme, “Following your dream.”
Mr Botchway appealed to the graduates to take advantage of the knowledge they had derived from the school to develop into patriotic and productive adults, and urged them to be good ambassadors of the school.
Mrs Gloria Asabea Kwakye, a retired catechist at the Adabraka Official Town Presbyterian Church who chaired the ceremony, urged parents to frequently check on the activities of their children, as well as guide them on decision making to enable them to take informed decisions.
She indicated that the best way to raise and build leadership skills in children was to give them quality and effective education.
“We must also try and provide them with the materials that will help them to learn faster to be able to face future challenges,” she said.
She commended the management and staff of the school for their dedicated service and commitment.
