Ms Afagbedzi addressing the staff.
The La Nkwantanang Municipal Chief Executive,MCE, Ms. Jennifer Afagbebzi, yesterday called on staff of the assembly to support the programmes of the government to bring development to the area.
According to her, the vision of the government was to create an enabling environment for everyone to contribute to the success of the one district, one factory initiative.
Ms. Afagbedzi said this at a meeting with staff of the assembly at Madina, in the Greater Accra Region, after her approval as the MCE.
She indicated that the area could achieve its desired economic targets if staff of the decentralised departments collaborated effectively to stimulate and conscientised the people to generate enough opportunities for wealth creation.
She said the declaration of the municipality as the best on the region’s league table was no mean achievement, as such called for the support of all heads of departments to double their efforts to maintain the position at the top as well as top the national league table.
Ms. Afagbedzi outlined her vision for the area, as recognising the potential of the youth, ensure wealth creation and wellness of the people, create enabling environment for businesses to strive and an open door policy to entertain divergent views towards the growth of the area.
She said a new chapter had been opened in the history of the area and with togetherness could transform the municipality.
“It’s a new chapter and everyone would be given the opportunity to contribute his or her quota for the socio-economic development of the area”, she said.
The Municipal Coordinating Director Alhaji Saaka Drammani, on behalf of the staff assured the MCE of their total commitment to enable her succeed.
