The Divisional Chief of Ahanta Himakrom in the Ahanta West Municipal of the Western Region, Nana Nzafram IV, is pushing for infrastructural development for his community.
Nana Nzafram, who is also the Adontehene of Ahanta Traditional Council (ATC) is lobbying both Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) and government to turn their attention to Himakrom, a farming community he says is lacking behind when it comes to infrastructure.
For now, Nana Nzafram is appealing for the construction of clinic in the village. He is also appealing to the government to consider constructing asphaltic roads in the community.
According to the Ahanta Adontehene, the communities in the area – from Mpayinasa, to Himakrom, to Azaani – do not have even single tarred road. He expressed the hope that government would turn its attention to the area.
Nana Nzafram used the opportunity to call on the youth in the area to exercise restraint in whatever they do.
Advising them to stay away from troubles and commotions, Nana Nzafram said they should also remember that they are the future leaders for their respective communities and should, therefore, not allow any outsider to badly influence them.
Nana Nzafram stressed that so far as he remained the chief of Himakrom, he would continue to protect the Himakrom stool for the good of the community.
To that end, he has advised the youth not to aid those who do not have their future at heart to cause commotion.
Nana Nzafram also extended an appeal to the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) to make it a matter of concern to transfer police officers, most especially CIDs, who have overstayed in a particular jurisdiction.
Nana expressed the hope that if the new IGP is able to do that it would help his administration.
