The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, by a new Executive Instrument (EI 66), has extended the closure of all entry points into Ghana, effective midnight tomorrow, April 5, 2020.
The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, posted on his Twitter page to announce the development. He said the extension is for another 14 days.
The measure has become necessary to be able to contain the spread of the Coronavirus, especially, as Ghana’s first cases, and several others were imported.
“This is to ensure that the risk of importation of Covid-19 cases will remain curtailed while we focus on the enhanced tracing and testing programme currently underway,” the tweet read in part.
