REJOINDER: BLOWS AT GBC OVER SALE OF LAND
The Eastern Regional Branch of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), led by the management, has noted with concern the false publication by a well-known newspaper, The Chronicle, on Friday May 5, 2017, that they are lacing their boots to go on a demonstration against the sale of the Corporation’s land to the Former MP for Akwatia, Baba Jamal, for his private project .
The Staff of GBC Eastern Regional Branch have been at their various offices attending to their normal duties, without any sign of agitation or demonstration or anything unusual.
None of the staff has been seen with any red bands on their wrist, head or neck, depicting the workers agitation for violence or demonstration.
Members of staff wonder why a highly recognised paper should publish such a story about GBC, without seeking information from reliable sources.
In order not to bring our noble Journalism profession into disrepute, the management of the Eastern Regional Branch of GBC demands that the writer or paper should as early as possible, publish this rejoinder to clear the erroneous impression created about the state-owned Broadcasting Station in the Eastern Regional.
