Skipper of Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, Nicholas Gyan, yesterday exhibited exceptional leadership when he scored a spectacular equaliser for his side.
The crucial goal, scored on the stroke of half time cancelled an early goal scored by the visitors, Tema Youth. The game provided a lot of excitement for the fans at the stadium, as both teams played with more aggression and high level of seriousness.
This notwithstanding, there was one controversial decision taken by the referee that nearly marred the beauty of the game.
This occurred when the center referee whistled for a penalty in favour of Dwarfs but quickly changed his decision and awarded a free kick against the ‘AbontoaAbontoa’ Boys.
Gyan’s wonderful goal has increased his goal tally to 7 this season.
Elsewhere, two penalty kicks awarded to Medeama in the second half and beautifully converted by Paul Aidoo ensured victory for the Western Region representative in the premiership over Asante Kotoko at the Tarkwa T&A park.
At the Accra Sports Stadium, glorious Accra Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways and walloped Becheam United by 4-2.
The Phobians scored 3 unanswered goals in the first half, but nearly had themselves to blame in the second half when the visitors returned with strong determination that almost saw them cancel all the 3 goals conceded in the first half. However, Cosmos Dauda rose to the occasion and scored a 4th goal for his side.
Other results are as follow;
Bolga: All Stars 1-0 Elmina Sharks
Dansoman: Liberty 1-1 Aduana Stars
Sogakope: WAFA 3-0 Ashgold
Tema: Inter Allies 1-1 Chelsea
Cape Coast: Dwarfs 1-1 Tema Youth
