The Private-Public Partnership agreement was entered into by the government of Ghana and the World Bank to ensure that the facility which was established in 1984 would obtain an Olympic-size swimming pool,ultra modern office complex,football fields,training and conference halls and a multi purpose sports court.
Fifty five hectares of land was also acquired to execute the PPP project which was approved in 2011.
“There was an agreement but we could not fulfill our side of it.
“When we came up with the proposal we were supposed to fund the project.
“We were supposed to fund the project by contributing our part but we could not raise the money,” he told Citi Sports in an interview.
