Inaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante have withdrawn from Ghana’s squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany after sustaining injuries in their recent club matches.
Williams featured for Athletic Bilbao in their victory over Real Betis, playing the full match, but later medical checks confirmed he picked up a knock that will keep him out of the trip.
Thomas-Asante, meanwhile, was in action for Coventry City in their 3-0 win over Swansea City but was forced off in the 62nd minute after suffering an injury.
The double setback is a blow for the Black Stars technical team as they prepare for two key test matches in Europe. Ghana will face Austria on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany three days later.
Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer has received a late call-up as a replacement in the attacking department for the two games.
The friendlies form part of preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Ghana will come up against Panama, Croatia and England in the group stage.
