Ghana's U17 coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has sent a confident message ahead of his team's WAFU Zone B final against Ivory Coast, declaring that the Black Starlets are now a completely different team.
This final is a highly anticipated rematch, coming just days after the Ivorians handed Ghana a heavy 3-0 defeat in the group stage. However, Coach Ogum is framing that loss as a critical learning experience.
Speaking after his team's impressive 2-0 semi-final victory over Nigeria, which secured Ghana's qualification for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Ogum was already looking ahead to the showdown.
"They defeated us in the group stage, so fortunately we've been able to play them," Ogum stated. "We know what to do."
The coach promised a total overhaul for the final, emphasising that the previous result would not define them. He vowed that his team would be transformed in every aspectâfrom their structure and tactics to their mentality and character on the pitch.
Ogum's comments suggest a match defined by strategic adjustments and renewed intensity, as Ghana seeks both redemption and the regional trophy against their hosts.
