Nations Football Club head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has been appointed as the new head coach of Ghana’s CHAN team, the Black Galaxies.
The appointment was announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Wednesday, September 10.
“The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Kassim Ocansey Mingle as the new Head Coach of the Black Galaxies, Ghana’s CHAN Team,” a statement from the GFA said.
In his new role, Kassim Mingle will be supported by an experienced backroom staff that includes Samuel Boadu, head coach of Berekum Chelsea, as his assistant.
Former Ghana U20 captain and current coach of Attram Di Visser, Godwin Attram, also joins the team as an assistant coach, while former Black Stars goalkeeper Stephen Ahorlu takes charge as Goalkeepers Coach.
Meanwhile, former Black Stars Team Manager, Henry Martey, will serve as Welfare Officer of the Black Galaxies, with Justice Kofi Mensah and Francis Ofori acting as Kit Managers.
The newly constituted technical team has been tasked with preparing a competitive Black Galaxies squad capable of excelling at the next CHAN tournament and restoring Ghana’s dominance on the continental stage.
