Dutch born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong is extremely delighted to score his maiden goal for Celtic in the Scottish Premier League.
The teen sensation netted his first goal for the club in their 2-0 win against Hibernian on Sunday, to add to a string of impressive performances for the Hoops.
“I was just delighted to score my first home goal," he said after the game. It was really good, the team played amazingly and we deserved it," he added.
“The fans are amazing so to score in front of them was the best feeling. I have been practising finishing in training and practice makes perfect."
Frimpong showed strong mental fortitude after recovering from a red card in the Scottish Cup final last week to score his debut goal on Sunday.
“We won the final last week and I got a red card but I got over it," he said.
“The manager told me not to worry about the sending-off and said I played well.
"It’s always good when you get the manager on side.
“I’m really excited to play in Europe — it’s going to be a good experience for me.”
The 18-year old joined the Scottish Champions from Manchester City in the summer for 350,000 pounds.
