English born Ghanaian youngster Arvin Appiah is set to sign a new deal with Championship side Nottingham Forest as he turns 18 on Saturday.
The talented winger was reported to be on the radar of several top flight sides with Nottingham set to sell him for a value of 6 million pounds, according to The Sun.
That interest is only likely to intensify, as Appiah makes his first steps into first team football and there may well come a point where Forest have to deal with interest from top flight clubs.
But manager Aitor Karanka hopes that his future will be at the City Ground – and warned that patience is still required, over his development.
“He is training with us every day and he has been in the squad, travelling with us, for the last month. He did pre-season with us as well,” said Karanka.
“My message to everyone is to keep calm, because he has an amazing future, but he is 17 and sometimes you want to take a big, big step forward, and you can make things worse.
“He will keep taking little steps. He loves to be here at the club and I hope he will be an important player in the future, for Forest.”
Arvin Appiah is expected to be in Nottingham Forest team that faces Chelsea in the English FA Cup on Saturday.
