New York City FC have declined to exercise contract options for Ebenezer Ofori and Kwame Awuah after releasing the duo from their 2019 Major League Soccer roster.
Ofori joined the Yankee Stadium outfit from German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart in February this year with an option to buy but he will return to his parent club despite making 27 league appearances scoring one goal.

“Contract options declined: Tommy McNamara, Maxime Chanot, Rodney Wallace, Ebenezer Ofori, Eloi Amagat, Kwame Awuah and Andre Rawls.

Out of contract: Yangel Herrera, Saad Abdul-Salaam, David Villa,” a section of the statement read.
