Liberty Professional coach Reginald Asante has expressed his belief that Edwin Tuffour Frimpong's underwhelming spell at Asante Kotoko was due to frequent change of position in the team.
Tuffour joined the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year deal two seasons ago from Liberty Professionals amid ecstasy amongst the Red fans.
However, the defender failed to establish himself in the club's colours as he was sold back to the Dansoman-based side during the second transfer window.
The 24-year-old excelled on his second debut for the Scientific Soccer lads against his former employers in midweek - which earned raves of adulation from pundits.
“Unfortunately, Kotoko didn’t know how to use him (Edwin Tuffour), they played him as a left back player. He is a center back, we will never use him on the left side of defence” Asante stated after the 1-1 draw with Kotoko in midweek.
“He is very comfortable here; he has been here for a while. We natured him very well and he is used to our (Liberty) philosophy. Though he started at Deportivo, it was we who gave him topflight experience in the Premier League,”
Tuffour was one of the seven players who were offloaded by Kumasi Asante Kotoko two weeks ago.
