Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu has been ruled out of Sunday's final 2018 FIFA World Cup final due to a thigh injury he sustained in training.
Atsu limped off training on Tuesday in Cape Coast and cannot recover in time for the redundant qualifier.
He reported for international duty and an injury doubt after coming off in Newcastle United's defeat to Bournemouth in a league match.
Two days to the match, the Ghana FA has confirmed the pacey winger will not be available for selection.
A statement on the Ghana FA Twitter account read: ''Tests have revealed that winger Christian Atsu will not play for #Ghana in Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Egypt. Team doctor says the scans show @ChristianAtsu20 suffered a thigh muscle tear.''
