Ghana forward Andre Ayew says he was convinced they were going to beat Tottenham Hotspurs in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Tottenham were two goals up at half time and looked to be easing into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals thanks to strikes from Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli.
But the Hammers refused to give up and pulled one back 10 minutes into the second half through Ayew before he found the Hammers’ equaliser five minutes later.
Angelo Ogbonna headed in West Ham’s winner on 70 minutes and Bilic’s side held on to win 3-2 and progress to the final eight of the competition.
And Ayew admits West Ham believed they could beat Spurs after Bilic’s half-time team talk.
Ayew told Sky Sports: “We stayed confident. We were down but the coach had the words.
“I want to congratulate the whole team, it's a massive win. We have a massive game on Saturday (against Crystal Palace).
"We have to enjoy this, but prepare for Saturday. We knew if we scored early in the second half we'd have a chance.
“We need to relax and work hard because Saturday is a big one."
