High flying BYF Academy staged a wonderful comeback to defeat Fijai Real United 3-2 at the Essipon Sports Stadium in what could could be described as one of the greatest comebacks in football.
The visiting side came from a goal down to pick the important win in a spirited fashion as they await Asante Kotoko in the round 64 of the MTN FA Cup.
Dominic Oduro broke the virginity of the game from a rebound when Isaac Asma's nicely curled corner kick was punched away by goalkeeper Evans Abekah.
The visitors pressed endlessly minutes after the goal until returnee Berko Richard headed home a beautiful cross from skipper Alfred Osei Owusu to restore parity before the break.
The Amansie Cobra returned from the break charged for the killer punch with Abdellah Yena inviting the home side shot stopper to make a cat-like save with a teasing curler.
Razak Shariff threw the Bekwai lads in front with a 25-yarder thunderous shot with 20 minutes to end the game.
As the home side pressed for the equalizer, striker Isaac Mintah capitalized on a counter attack, turned two defenders inside out and hit the ball beautifully under the roof of the net to put the visitors in a comfortable lead.
But the celebration for the visitors was short-lived as Dominic Amissah responded with a similar strike like Mintah' to restore hope for the home side.
The home side kept the pressure on the visitors and had their efforts rewarded when Dominic was brought down in the eighteen box for a penalty.
But man of the match Evans Abekah dramatically saved Isaac Asmah's spot kick in fashionable style to keep the visitors in the lead.
The spirited Amansie Cobra boys gallantly defended their lead to register their second away win of the season.
The win means the Bekwai side are now 5th on the table as the DOL hits week 9.
