Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie missed Hammarby IF's 2-1 defeat at Norrköping due to injury in the Swedish Allsvenskan opener on Sunday.
The 25-year-old failed to recover in time for the clash at the Östgötaporten.
Koffie, who joined the Swedish top-flight side from Major League Soccer outfit New England Revolution, is expected to be key for Hammarby in his debut season.
The Ghanaian could return to face Kalmar on Sunday.
Sabastian Anderson and Filip Dagerstål scored the goals as the home side picked their first three points of the season.
