Accra, Dec. 23, GNA - It was a Christmas come early for inmates and staff of the Royal Seed Home in the Central Region when staff of National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) donated food items for their upkeep.
The items included; grains, groceries, detergents, palm oil, provisions, cloths, water and a cash of undisclosed amount.
Inmates were full of joy as they performed brass band tunes for the entertainment of their guests who joined them in dancing after sharing gifts to the little ones among them.
Human Resource Manager of NAFCO, Rebecca Mensah handed over the items to the Founder of the Home, Mrs. Naomi Esi Amoah and explained that the gesture was the staff’s little means to show love with inmates of the Home in the season of yuletide.
She commended the management of the Home for tirelessly caring for the inmates, most of whom were abandoned or orphaned.
“We know the very difficult circumstance under which you cater for these little ones and we pray that the good Lord continues to replenish you and provide the means to care more for them”, she added.
Corporate Affairs Manager of NAFCO, Mr. Emmanuel J.K Arthur said aside forming part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities, the donation was part of activities preceding the 10th Anniversary of the company to be climaxed in March next year.
Senior Finance Manager, Mr. Richard Sam-Asante expressed the hope the token would inspire more individuals and organisations to extend benevolence to the Home.
Founder of the Home, Mrs. Naomi Esi Amoah was grateful for both the visit and the donation and prayed for God’s continuous favour on the staff in particular and NAFCO in general.
She cited drinking water as one of the biggest challenges facing the Home.
She later conducted the staff to the facilities of the Home.
